Some unlock codes for Samsung phones, these are entered on the keypad although i am not sure for all models whether the SIM should be removed or not, i'm afraid it's upto you to try, these codes generally reset part of the phones EEPROM so these are strictly use at your own risk i'm afraid.

put in a sim card that the phone is not meant to work with.

only snag with this code is when you turn the phone off you will have to repeat it, or permanently keep your phone on.

Just a little warning to any of the newbs coming here and posting the same topic (no matter what you want to rename it) asking how to unlock their phone or what to do when it says "Locked: Return for Servicing"

Unlocking:

If you have Rev 1.5 (x426) or earlier and most older models
Use the *#9998*3323# Trick (look for it on the forum)
The *#1111*WHATEVER# code will NOT work

If you have Rev 1.6 (x426) or later and most newer models
You MUST use unlocking software. Codes WILL lock your phone FOREVER

Locked: Return for Servicing

There is only 1 working solution, you must flash a copy of the firmware that is not in the locked status. (Most) Unlocking programs will NOT disable this issue, and your service provider cannot give you a code

If you do not plan to use your phone with another service provider, there is no real point to unlocking your phone other than to sell it. If you don't need to unlock it, don't take the risk of disabling the phone altogether

The *#9998*3323# Method:

1. If you have changed your phone password, change your password back to the default 8 zeros (00000000).
2. Put a SIM card that is from a network other than the one your phone is locked to
3. When Incorrect SIM error comes up, type *#9998*3323#.
4. White screen will appear with an exit option. Press the right softkey.
5. From the menu that appears, select the Malloc Fail option. This will reboot the phone and the normal service screens will appear.
6. Type *0141# and then press the green call key. "Personalization" or "Personalized" will appear.
7. Turn off your phone and put the original SIM back in.
8. Turn on your phone. You will receive a prompt to enter a password.
9. Type 8 zeros (00000000)
10. Completed. You have now unlocked your phone.

Cerebros Instructions:

1. Make sure phone is plugged into cable, cable is plugged into computer, drivers are installed, and phone is on.
2. Start Cerebros Unlocker 1.5
3. Click the "Models" drop-down box
4. Select your model from list (q100 = x426/x427)
5. Press Unlock
6. Wait until finished and unplug phone
7. Remove battery, replace, and turn phone on
8. Phone is now unlocked

WinIMEI Instructions:

1. Make sure phone is plugged into cable, cable is plugged into computer, drivers are installed, and phone is on.
2. Start WinIMEI
3. Make sure U.S.A. (Voicestream), A Line, 1 PC, and the com port you are using are selected from the appropriate drop-down menus.
4. All selection boxes should be unchecked
5. Click Write IMEI in the bottom center
6. From the new screen that appears click RD IMEI Setting
7. Wait for TestModeOn Pass and the box in the upper right to display Pass and turn green before proceeding

I've transferred a photo onto my phone from my computer - turns out any photos over 1152 by 864 will break the phone - would have been nice to have been told!

Anyway, I put this file on my phone and now when i try and get into the 'downloaded images' folder on the phone it crashes the phone.

Annoyingly I've connected my computer and i can see all the images on the phone - i just can't do anything about them!

Does anyone know how to round this - i don't care if i lose all the files on my phone - just want it working!

Have read most of the posts, but a little confused. Bit of a noob. lol I'm tryin to unlock SGH-E800  imei: 357397-00-545308-8. Have unlocked everything on it apart from Network. Understand I need a code. 00000000 doesn't work tho. Don't want to permanently lock it, so is there a way to find the hidden code? Or will I end up flashing it. When I enter the CHECK CODE it says General Defense Code erased. I assume that's only the PIN code right?

Forgive me if im wrong, but I think the PUK code can only be given by the network provider. Give customer services a call (not sure of the number, you dont say which network your on) tell them you need a PUK code and they will do the checks on you ie your address, mothers maiden name etc. then tell you the PUK code.
As I say forgive me if im wrong.

Hi. Discovered your forum on a search for free unlocking. V new to this- brought a Samsung to Australia from UK, contract terminated/expired with Orange and haven't used since 2003. Recently lost Australian phone so wanting to find out how I can unlock it without the expensive airfare to the UK....

Paid £4.50 for a *2767*637# code that didn't work- 'wrong entry'- with no refund as they said (after I'd paid) that this could happen. ..

By the way, i used this website a while back to unlock my E700, the #*7337# didn't work with mine (locked to UK orange) but *2767*688# worked perfectly. I lost all my phone numbers (stored on phone, sim was fine) and any pictures though, so make sure you back up first!

I know you've all seen this before...but can somebody PLEASE help me?  I recently bought a Samsung SGH - 500 (or D500), i think they're the same thing, off E-bay for 370 freakin' dollars.  In the description, it said the phone was unlocked and would work on any network.  Turns out, it's locked to Cingular and i'm trying to get it to pick up Cellular One towers.  When I put my SIM card in and start up the phone, it says "searching" then "Cingular" at the bottom of the screen.  I am able to make and receive phone calls, but i found out that i am getting charged roaming fees, since the phone is running on Cingular towers.  I am able to receive text messages, but not send them.  I have tried just about every freakin' code i've came across...i did these steps...
1. *2767*63342# auto restart indicates "insert sim"
2. *2767*3855# auto restart indicates "insert sim"
3. *2767*2878# auto restart indicates "insert sim"
4. *2767*927# auto restart indicates "insert sim"

Problem solved!!! My original problem as stated in the above 2 posts. Unlocking using the Original Poster's codes worked beautifully, except that in the UK, O2's newer phones have a customized IMEI with the O2 name in it. They even changed samsung's default reset code, so not even the samsung people could help me, and naturally, O2 wants to charge me for the info. When I made the unlock permanent by personalizing it using the *0141#, O2's phone defaulted back to their secret sim lock. And what's that? Instead of typing the default password of four zeros, or eight zeros, replace the zero's with fives. Simple, elegant, no-need-for-cables-solution, yet took me a whole day searching the net, seen dozens of other people asking the same thing, and the answer was right there on the O2's sim leaflet. Now I can enjoy my new 2 year old v200!!!!!

FOUND WAY TO SUCCESSFULY UNLOCK IT (only to switch another provider)

OK, here it goes

Basicly when you do *2767*688xxxxxxxxxxxxx# trick you just unlock it temporarily for next boot (but heres thing that worked on mine)

1)  after inserting your LOCKED PROVIDERS card you input your PIN (if asked so) and that *2767*688xxxxxxxxxxxxx# where xxxxx is you IMEI code
2) next thing you do is w8 till phone boots (dont input anything but this),      *0141#    and press OK /send button  , now message "Personalized" will be shown and thats it
         *now this means your phone will not ask you to input *2767* thing on that SIM boot, congrats you locked it to your new Provider

Insert a not supported sim card
Follow these 4 steps:

Then press exit
Then select 6

The phone should be unlocked, then press *0141#

Let me know if it works - if it does, switching the phone on and off again will probably lock it again so you'll either need to repeat or pay for an unlock (or we can sell hardware to do it for £15).
