Just came across this, thought it might be useful in case any of your phones get stolen:

Quote
How it Works

Immobilise is powered by MEND (the database system that stores your phone and other property identifiers and your personal details). Police Forces across the country have access to this information to assist them to check the ownership of phones and other property they recover, as do other agencies such as Transport for London and lost property offices.

You register your details via the registration page.
Once you have registered, you will be notified by email of your personal account details which will include your login name and password.
The details you registered will be made available to the police to help them identify recovered mobile phones and any other recorded property. If your phone or other property is lost or stolen, then this will improve your chances of getting it back.
You will be reminded from time to time to ensure that the details on your account are up to date (this will be done via an email to your contact email address).
You can add or amend details of your account at anytime.

I very much doubt it McT.  they would probably just bar it to prevent it being used.

Sad
there is however, companies out there that will do this

Not sure, if they can track the mobile by the imei # tho I'm very sure they can with a mobile phone #
using the network signal.
