Hey,

I just flashed my V600 following the guide, but now, it immediatly turns off after turning on (the keys and screen backlight go on, but half a second later the phone dies). Any ideas on how to fix this? MultiFlashFlex said it was a successful flash. I've tried having it plugged in to the mains as well, no luck.

Can you power on in boot mode?

Hold * and # while powering the phone on.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I can, but every flash I try just keeps getting corrupt like this. I'm using a genuine Motorola cable.

Actually, I can flash this file:

http://coma.fsb.hr/motorola/files/TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.58R_LP0039_JPJAVA_G_0B_TRIPLET_08_01R_SE7400AXXXX1C9_1FF.rar

But it doesn't seem to be designed for the V600, and lacks some if its features (such as event lights). And it seems sluggish in use.

Which flashes have you used then?

If I understand correctly, you've used either a 55Ror 58R flash file, then tried a different version?

Was this a new phone or second hand phone?

So 58R (the file you link to above) works, but just not very well?

I have tried:

RIPLETS_G_0B.09.1DR_A_LP0039_JPG_0B_TRIP_0B_04.05R_SE6446AXXF10F8_1FF
(from the guide) - doesn't work

TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R.rar
Doesn't work

TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R_reflash.rar
Doesn't work

TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.58R_LP0039_JPJAVA_G_0B_TRIPLET_08_01R_SE7400AXXXX1C9_1FF.rar - Flex SE7400AXXXX1C9
Works!

I bought it new. Was unflashed until I tried now.

Actually, I've just flashed it again, and now it works better. It more responsive, but still lacks Event Lights (thats the only difference I can see now).

Thanks for the help. It's much appreciated Smile[/b]

event lights can be activated using flex editors

58R is made for the V600, but you can't downgrade the firmware to most other types because it uses a different bootloader (hence why you'd get a non-bootable phone with them).  It's unusual for a new phone to use this firmware though, so if you know what it was beforehand, let us know!

Sorry, I didn't note it down Sad.

So which flex do I need to get the event lights working? And is there any way to change the bootloader?

Cheers Smile

You'll have to stick with the 55R, 58R etc line of flashes as i don't think you can get the bootloader back. A lot of people prefer 58R tho anyway!

Event lights - have a look in our Useful Tools thread at the top of this forum and try the hex editor (can't be more detailed as on wap!).

Okay cheers mate, no probs!

I'll stick with the 58R. I think I'll leave event lights off anyway, as I seem to be able to hear a really high pitch sound whenever its on, and it is REALLY annoying when you're trying to sleep!

Can you point me to somwhere with the differences between the flashes? Oh, and also does this flash save test messages on the phone instead of the SIM now?

Thanks.

It's the flex that determines the sms storage method.

Ok, thanks.

Just a couple more questions, a bit off topic now, but is there any way to disable the beep the phone makes when you press the side buttons to change the "Style" (the sound profile)? Probably some hex editing required, but I can't find a guide that describes how to do that.

It is incredibly annoying!

Thanks Smile.

It is annoying, and there is a way to disable it...but I have a feeling that if you use some of the default ringtones, it'll break those too. I know I didn't do it because I use the classic one or whatever it's called, and so it'd mess that one up if I disabled the side button noises.

If you use different ringtones, then it's no problem and I'll see if I can dig out the guide!

I agree! Almost as annoying as the low battery warning beep.

I dont think there is a way to disable it though.

Hello,

where can I find the file on this list that worked?
TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.58R_LP0039_JPJAVA_G_0B_TRIPLET_08_01R_SE7400AXXXX1C9_1FF.rar [/b] - Flex SE7400AXXXX1C9
I have a dead V600.  I can bring up boot mode
by #+* and holding power button but that's all I can do.  I have tried a few other file but no luck.
thanks
Ken

I have tried:

TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R.rar
